Tikka t3 in 270 wsm

Thinking about picking up a tikka t3 stainless laminate in 270 wsm. Anyone have any experience with this gun or round? I've always been a fan of Sakos, but can't swallow the price of a new one. This would be for mid to long range deer (450-500 yds max) i shoot a 300 wsm savage now and would like to have something a little lighter recoiling i could carry. I've handled the tikkas and have been impressed with how much they feel and favor th sako rifles.

Unless you just have to have the WSM get the Tika in a standard 270 Win. You won't see that much difference in Velocity between them in the factory barrel length.

A friend of mine has one and loves it. He is not a hand loader, but the rifle is very accurate with factory ammo and kills Elk dead. Barlow

I just like the case design of the wsm cartridges. I shoot a 300 wsm now and really like the shoulder angle, and shorter column of powder. I think a 260 wsm would be even better for a flat shooting round although you would need a bit longer barrel than a factory offering.

Yes, this is the main reason I'm wanting one. Just not sure if I want blued walnut or pay a bit more and get the laminated stainless....

I really like my Tikka. The ease by which you adjust the trigger is great. No smoother factory action anywhere for the $$$. It will spoil you.

I just bought that lefty 7 mm mag.... and adjusted the trigger screw all the way out until it stopped... and the pull is perfect.... maybe a pound plus or minus... just perfect

These are high quality rifles... nothing better for the price
