Tikka t3 Ejector mod/ removal

I would like to remove the ejector, or at least weaken the plunger spring on the bolt of my Tikka T3x.
I haven't found any information about performing this task, or even any drawings of the assembly.
I am hesitant to remove the roll pin without knowing what that 'accomplishes'.
I did come across this old thread as the result of a forum search:
http://forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/removed-ejector-from-my-tikka-595.3742598/

so i know it's been done, I just don't know how to proceed and don't want to hose things up as I have a match I'd like to attend this weekend.

And help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Regards
ED3

Tikka bolt parts kit off Brownell's website...should be a simple matter of driving out the roll pin with a suitable punch. The punch will capture the ejector plunger and spring as the pin is driven out. Put the bolt nose in a baggie to contain the parts and withdraw the punch. Good luck.

Thanks much to hrlincoln, and #40fan.
Drove the pin out from the opposite of the bolt; the plunger, spring, and notched 'keeper'? came out the plunge hole.
I can't quite imagine how it fit together, nor could I ever reassemble the parts removed. But it accomplished my goal.

Thanks Again.

Now that you took it apart, what now?

This is an F/TR rifle.
All I wanted to do was modify the bolt/ ejector so it would not fling brass ~2' when opening the bolt.
It can be a distraction depending where the brass is landing...sometimes bouncing into my ammo box, landing in the grass, rolling under me on the mat.
My first thought was to weaken the compression spring on the plunger, but removing the entire ejector mechanism accomplishes the desired result just as well, perhaps better (and certainly a less complicated fix than removing/ trimming /reinstalling /testing the spring).
Really didn't take it apart, beyond the simple task of pulling the firing pin; I pushed out one small roll pin- about 3/32"dia x 5/16" - and the plunger, spring, and keeper fell right out. This will be a permanent modification to the bolt.
Now the spent cartridge just lays on top the BobSled magazine insert.

You gonna plug the hole so it doesnt shave off the brass that flows into the hole? If it was mine id measure the od, length and wire dia and figure out the specs on that spring then order one with the same od and resting length with about half the rate. Mcmaster carr should have what you need

It doesn't appear that reassembly without the spring would be possible, as the plunger is held in place by inserting the small end of the plunger into the coils of the spring.
I will experiment with gradually shortening the spring until the ejector's protrusion, and influence is negligible for my purposes.

Don't worry about it. I shoot 4 Tikkas in competition, and I've removed the ejector from all of them. I don't have any problems.

Yep; I took it out to foul the barrel yesterday. 8 rounds and absolutely no marks, or indications on the head the brass was effected by the ejector hole where there the plunger was.

Really makes focusing on shooting much easier without the distraction of flying brass.

I went crazy and put a palma barrel on my tikka tubegun. I kept the ejector and if I dont open the bolt too fast I can usually get them to flip in to the open top of my cartridge boxes. The bolt stop is something i have considered removing to make loading easier while keeping the rifle in my shoulder.
