tikka t3 and 155 smk

so i have found that my tikka 308 will not shoot 155 grain smk's . and i hav no idea why its driving me Crazy ! i have tried RL15 , imp 4064 and every OAL . diff primers , and charges. I'm lost. so im guessing that some guns just will not shoot a certain grain bullet ? am i right ? "and its not the 155 palma smk" i get great groups with hornady 150 sst , 168 hornady match and sierra 168 smk. also sierra 165 boat tail soft point

That does surprise me, my T3 loves the 155 Berger, I will have to try the SMK's.

its crazy , maby i should just stick to what works . but i really want to use the 150 and 155s. that are half the recoil . and there is really no use for 168s where im at the most we shoot round here is 300 yards I'm guessing its the short bearing surface it dont like . if i can find some 150 nosler b-tips or match ill thy them

guess ill save them for when i build another 308 i have a m24 style barrel to fit a rem 700 action. its a 1 in 11 twist

155 scenar does not like to jump. it will work in Sako and Tikka barrel if you jam the bullet in the fields. The more you force it to jump, the worse groups will be. After finding a proper seating depth, it started working and produced nice .3moa groups (5 shot) in my TRG22.

sorry was not paying enough attention... you were asking for SMK not Scenar. But the same logic should imply.

I have a T3 that would not shoot 155 bergers well. I was trying to seat them closer to the lands but it wasn't working. After reading the berger web site I made some 130 thou off the lands (2.840 COAL) and these group at 1/2 MOA.

to be honest, iv tried so many lengts i cant remember the last one i used ill have to look.... going to try really close this time. only thing i dont like about RL15 is with 155s it has a lot air space.
