Tikka T1x Question

Mark M.

My question, Is the barrel threaded into the receiver, or is it a slight in fit similar to a CZ?
Thanks fellas

Three Set screws and barrel has locktight , a barrel vice is needed also some heat but dont overheat . and twist barrel and pull at the same time also use the best torque bits you can buy not cheap or you will break the bit in the set screw head . some are easy and some are tough

if you want Tikka T1x to shoot better in factory stock add weight in butt of stock ! My buddy did his and it really helped steady it up on the rest .

One thing about the T1X, you don't need to change the barrel, they shoot as is. I had my in a KRG Bravo, did not shoot any better. I put it back in factory stock for sporter / factory class matches

I have 5 t1x rifles. I have played with different barrels and the factory barreled action shoots the best in my opinion. The only thing I like better than the factory configuration is the t1x with a 17 hm2 barrel on in which I took a blank to my smith and said do work! Haha I love tikkas and for the money they can’t be beat centerfire or rimfire. I love the fact they started making the wood stocked t1x hunter. For 799 msrp they are very nice walnut stocked sporters that will shoot competitively with any other rifle. The t1x shoots better than some of my coopers even.

I am completely satisfied with my Tikka T1X after 2 years of extensive recreational target shooting.

The one aftermarket change I made which significantly improved my ability to shoot it accurately was I change the pistol grip to their vertical grip. This significantly improved my trigger finger position.
