Yes, I've had that done before. 6.5CM to 6.5 PRC and a 6.5CM to .260AI. Make sure you get a good gunsmith that knows what he's doing!

Yes, I have re-chambered a brand new take off 24 inch 6.5 creedmoor to 6.5 PRC. Tikka barrel steel is gummy and a little tricky to chamber, At least that has been my experience, But they shoot good.

The reamer makes scary noises, But nothing bad happens. Barrels are cold hammer forged. If I was guessing, I would say they are made from the same type of steel that Lothar Walther barrels are made of which are also a little tricky to chamber.

I am actually getting ready to do another brand new take off Tikka Varmint 6.5 Creedmoor to 6.5x57.

Good barrels. The accuracy, SD and ES numbers most of my tikka barrels have been producing have been excellent. Good deal on a solid barrel.
