Tika lite stainless 223?

So I have made my choice and it is the Tika stainless lite in 223, this rifle has a one in eight twist, which is sapposed to handle bullets up to 80 grains in weight. My question is how will it handle lighter bullets like 55-70 grains in weight? is it too fast of a twist rate for the lighter bullets? I really like the 60 grain partitions and 65 grain game kings. I do want to experiment with heavier 70-80 grain bullets also.

I have owned 2 Tikkas, they flat out SHOOT! The first one was a LH Lite 223 stainless synthetic. I used 25.4 gr of Benchmark with a 50gr V-max, 205M primer, and Win brass. It shot 1/2 to 3/4 as long as the barrel didn't get too hot. (6-9 fairly quick rounds)

I also bought and still have a Varmint 223. I load 40gr V-max with 26.4gr of Benchmark with 205M primers, and Win brass. That one wears a Nightforce Benchrest 12-42x56. I have shot SEVERAL 1/4" 5 shot groups with it when the planets were in alignment and the moon was in the right phase ;)

They are a very well made rifle, the triggers are also easy to adjust. You will be happy owning one!

I currently own & shoot Tikka rifles...both the T3 series and the earlier 595 series..223 7-08..308...30-06...6.5x55(s)..I sold myT3 223 SS Varmint 223 earlier this year....yes with 8 twist...Tikka builds a fine outta the box rifle...more accurate than some custom builds..trigger & barrel are exceptional....the bolt slides as slick as snot...Just be aware your 223 w/8 twist..the magazine is to short to accomadate the 75+ grain bullets...you will have to single load them...or modify the magazine to feed the long OAL cartridge....fine rifles in any caliber....just an oversight by Sako/Tikka in Finland......

I swear that New Zealand is the Tikka capital of the world! Every man & his dog owns one & swears by it. Congratulations on your wise purchase, I have never heard a bad word said about the Tikka...it is truely fantastic value for money.
