Thurman Finniff

It is with great sadness the I report the passing of Thurman Finniff. He passed away this morning at his home. Thurman was the father of the St. Thomas Groundhog Shoots. He was personally responsible for me spending way over my budget on target rifles trying to beat him....which I rarely did.................the shooting community is truly diminished

yes it is. it sadened and shocked me when i got the phone call telling me about thurman. i am one of the youngest shooters up at st. thomas and have enjoyed shooting so much just being around him different times i have been up at the range on days after work and weekends before i got into groundhog shoots. i can't believe he's gone. our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time.

Thurman did a lot for the Ground Hog Matches. He was instrumental starting it first at Shippensburg then at Saint Thomas.
Whenever we lose one that is so involved in organizing and promoting our sport we are all diminished.
