I have several barrels throated for match bullets and others for hunting bullets. Without exception getting near the lands with match bullets in a barrel throated for hunting bullets you are seating them way out there, usually past mag length in either my 7-08 or 308. Loading hunting bullets it is easy to get close to the lands in the same rifle. Conversely barrels throated for match bullets typically cause hunting bullets to be seated pretty deep. At least this concerns my collection of 10 or so rifles.
