Those using Lee Perfect Powder Measure vs the "Deluxe"

Have you tried the "Deluxe" Lee Perfect Powder Measure? Is the brass barrel worth the extra money? I use 2 of the Lee Perfect Powder Measures and my only complaint is the occasional catch or snag with stick powder. It will throw a heavy charge. Never taken it apart. Understand lapping the parts helps stop leaking with ball powder, will it help the catch or snag with stick powder? The new Deluxe has been out long enough for somebody to have real world experience.

I used one of the old cheapie LEE powder dropper till I bought a used "GREEN" one with micrometer adjustment. I quickly found out the old LEE was as accurate as the more expensive green one.
Then I bought one of the new LEE with brass barrel and I cannot believe it!
The only complaint is the inaccuracy of setting the powder load

But, once set, it is very consistent. I would guess it has an accuracy of around 0.15-0.2 gr. Some times even way better depending on the powder

When I ordered my first Lee Perfect a long time ago, I already had several pricier throwers. Those little plastic gizmos have amazed me, especially throwing stick powder. If I remember correctly I got it to take out in the field.

I have one LPP measure. Taken it apart many times (you should make sure that the conical surfaces don't contain any powder kernels).
It is the most consistent measure I have. I use for rifle cartridges mostly, and it does shear a log or two when using stick powders (but are there really any measures that don't shear the occasional kernel stick?). Sure doesn't affect the throw weight or the accuracy of the loads.
Used it for pistols also and had a lot of leaking powder at first; however, I did something that many people don't do--I read the instructions and placed a piece of paper under the measure to catch the leading powder. I either poured the leaked powder back in the hopper or into the powder can. After taking the measure apart and cleaning and adjusting the tension many times over the years, the conical sections have worn in and leakage is very low.
Measure feels like junk, but it sure does work well.
