We are about to get a seriously bad wind and rain through tomorrow and I hope all will be safe. Our trees are braced by constant westerly winds and the root bundles with a noreaster will probably bring down a good percentage of trees. I only hope it fizzles out before to much damage is done.My prayers go out to all affected by this storm.

Yah I have a friend near Danbury CT just got the firewood from LAST October's storm stacked & covered. Remembers the 9 days w/o power all too well too.

Keep your wits, stay up with weather reports & don't try to be a hero & you'll make it thru to the other side come Wednesday AM.

However bad it is be sure to vote next week too.

The high winds are starting and we are expected to have power outages and many trees coming down. I hope they are wrong about the intensity as I live near a creek that turns into a river when we have heavy rains.

It's ramping up now. Supposed to do so until 11pm which is forecast to be the height then through to 3pm Tuesday. Potentially 80+ mph gusts. I do not remember this happening in the last 50 years here. In the darkness makes it harder. Not much we can do but use our heads and ride it out. Hope for the best. I'd rather be home!

Peter.

Here in the western part of MD, the rain is getting harder and the wind has picked up quite a bit. The power is still on...for now. Good luck to my fellow Easterners,
Gary

We're praying that all of you stay safe. I hope this turns out to be much less worse than the forcast. Unfortunately the old adage, "keep your head down and powder dry", may well apply.

Guys, I live in southeast Florida. Please take every precaution you can. Better to be over prepared than have that "what if" moment. Our prayers are offered for all in this storms path.

I'm in Ocean Pines Md. ( on the bay behind Ocean City Md. ) ..on the water..a hole lot of water...we've had this home since 1997..first as a shore home..then as the only home..seen northeasters..close brushes w/ hurricanes..but nothing like this..the water went over the dock..over the bulkhead.. and 1/2 way up the back yard..tonight at 11:30 pm will be the make or brake tide..the low still left water on the dock and the full moon , storm surge tide will build on that. if it goes under the house it will get the heat pumps, vapor barrier and the insulation..if it comes in the house..the hell with the gun collection..were out of here..want some pictures..log on to ocean pines.org...please say a prayer

Getting whacked now here in South Central PA! The bright side is that some choose to use disasters to loot, the hard part is trying not to look excited! ::)
Seriously, prayers go out to all. ;)

Prayers for you all from all of us in the NW corner of the country. May you all be safe and come out of this alright.............

Just a little west of central Ct. here and the rain wasn't really all that bad but the wind was howling. Lots of trees and branches down but luckily we never or haven't lost power yet, flickered a few times but stayed on.Still too dark to go out and asses any damage but I believe we faired pretty good considering.
For all of you who didn't do as well be safe while cleaning up debris or water more accidents happen during the clean up than during the storm.
Good luck to all now receiving the snow part of this storm.

I faired pretty good but some people didnt do as well in the rochester ny area and surrounding towns. I am glad we some how dodged another bullet. The creek is rising behind my house and I dont expect we will have any great issues. Thanks to all for your prayers and concern. Jon T Lennon

Looks like central Virginia was spared . I live in a river bottom been watch the water level nothing bad yet .We did lift up the boats out of water tided the jetskis with rope incase . Lost power for 2 hours this morning was getting ready to fire up generator and the lights came back on . Good Luck to you guys up North .So far no bad winds just steady rain

Wow, I just got the power back on and I see that New Jersey and points north were hit really hard I certainly feel for anyone effected by this storm.
