Thompson Venture value

My wife's cousin won a Thompson Center Venture chambered in 270, blued metal, synthetic stock with a Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 scope. I am in the habit of buying rifles for my children before they can use them but usually have a eye for nicer equipment. How much for the package would you be willing to pay? He is asking 400.

p.s. should mention it is unfired.

Offer him 350.00 in cash.That is a decent deal and they are shooters.Actually it is a cheaper model but the same barrel on the more expensive models.I dont think you could get hurt at that price.
