Thompson Center Icon Precision Hunter 204 Ruger value

I'm thinking of selling mine and finding a value is tough. Nothing to judge by on any of the usual places. Mine is a 204 Ruger, heavy fluted barrel in a brown laminate stock. Shot very little and in very nice shape. I took it to a very small show and got a few really low offers. Its a very nice rifle and shoots great and I will keep it before I sell at low ball prices. But on a flip side, maybe I think its worth more than it is. Everything I found on the internet was sold and no price as what they sold for.

Thanks!

I really don't know when they were first produced, but from what I understand they were only available for a few years then discontinued. I've had other T/C variants and all have shot very well. Why they were discontinued I have no idea. But the Precision Hunter only lasted a few years. I think the Venture was the replacement, for the Icon, then it was discontinued and the Compass replace it. A down hill spiral in quality IMO.

Thanks 1raggedhole. I got a couple of low ball offers but turned them down. Its a nice rifle and shoots well. I may just keep it. It doesn't eat much. LOL!

Thanks again-Bill

My Icon PH is one of the most rare, a 6.5 Creedmoor.
This one can (and usually does) shoot sub 1/2 MOA groups and cold bore is always dead on to where it is zeroed.
It is, in spite of the fluted barrel, a bit on the heavy side and mine wears a NF 3.5-15 NXS to make it even heavier but I don't have to carry it far and it helps soak up that recoil from the mighty 6.5 Creedmoor :p:cool:.
I have used it to take white tail deer, Axis deer, pigs and coyotes and never failed to produce DRT.
Now, as to your PH in 204, I would say just hold on to it. Smith & Wesson, owners of TCA, has officially announced the brand is shut down so it could become quite a bit more valuable.

Mine is a little on the heavy side but being 204R there is little to no recoil. Mine has a Bushnell Nitro 6-24x50 so that adds a little weight also. It shoots 39 grain Blitzkings into very small groups. I still think T/C screwed the pooch when they stopped making these.
