Thinking of selling all reloading/shooting stuff...just need some advice!

Hey guys/girls I'm considering getting out of target shooting and reloading and just keeping a couple hunting rifles. I have ALOT of stuff, do you think its better to part out all the guns and sell reloading stuff seperately or package things together? I really dont have the time to package and ship stuff seperately but I will if I have to!!

I think you would be wise to list individual items and there prices.
easier for people to buy one item than a whole lot in which they won't need 75% of it and will
have to turn around a sell it again.

you could do a little of both by packaging items together in smaller packages. ie. a powder scale with the trickler instead of two separate items. package like bullets together.

Split it up. You will attract more buyers and make more cash in the long run

Im having a hard time splitting up the guns :-\ They just shoot so unbelievably well I dont think I can do it! The 223 will print litterally 1 hole at 100 and 5 touch at 300. Mcgowens background was my target at 200 yards 5 shot.

breaking is so hard to do.... Lol's

vmaxpro... if your rfile shoots 'that well' with i scope i may not like, it will shoot 'just as well' with my scope i like better...

just saying..

Hi Vmax,hi all

Since you've made up your mind on getting rid of the whole lot(whatever and however they might be split),and since you've taken a very long part of your life building that lot up,I suggest you do it calm and easy, consider the whole lot, decide what has to stay together, what can be split, then, and only then, make a detailed priced list of the whole inventory and publish it here and on other forums, and stick to it as long as possible...Otherwise you might end up regretting behaving foolishly.....Just my 2 cent.Good luck to you on such a painful venture.

Clod, good advice! I took 30 days to consider this and I told myself if I feel the same way after 30 days Im going to do it. Plus I really need the extra $ at this time. Id like to only sell on this site because its been so good to me :)

Hi again Vmax

Well mate, good on you,but as my old mother says,"son, money has got no smell",so wherever it comes from, and whoever's willing to sign the check is welcome, and you don't really give a heck in the end...You're sort of giving up on a whole part of your life, you're not gonna get touchy about whoever is willing to help, are you?Of course,it's my point of view,so you can do whatever you feel about it,I'm not the one on the edge of the cliff, but you wanted help and advice, that's mine, honest as I can be....Good luck to you Max.

Vmax, been thinking about the same thing. Some thoughts of late, if in need of money maybe sell off a couple of large items to take off a little pressure and than start on small items. Fire sales can really hurt prices. Guys here say guns might be worth more parts than complete, I like you hate to take a good gun ( 300 rds.) apart and through away $900.00 gunsmithing ect., kind of leaves bad taste. Not sure what to due, so maybe I'll just keep'em till I die and let someone else sort it all out. Good luck to you. Thanks John

Split it up! Yes it is a pain to ship the stuff but you will make out far better. If you have a bunch of stuff get yourself a bunch of the different size boxes ( usps flat rate ) at the post office. Also get the bubble wrap with the small bubbles. They will make life much better and you can take a bunch down at the same time to save on driving. As far as rifles sometimes it is better to part out depending on what it is.

Hey thanks for all the replies! What I think I'm going to do is split up guns, scopes, etc and make a package deal on the reloading stuff. I have tons of other stuff laying around as well so keep your eyes open on the classifieds soon!!
