Thinking of a new rifle

Well thats enough about the 6br.I been thinking about buying a rem 700 sps in .243win thats a 26" tube 1-9 1/4 twist want to shoot the 105vld bullets any one have any experience with that? do you think that will work? Or i have a rem700 long action sitting here, was thinking of barreling it to a 6-284 1-8 twist 26'' heavy sporter barrel any thoughts on that? want to play with some heavy 6 bullets for say game shooting out to 1,000yds.Groung hogs and maybe a whitetail deer.??

Shot a Savage 12FV .243, 1-9/14 twist, 26 inch barrel, in F Class a few years ago.

Very accurate out to 1000 yards with 105 AMax and 107 SMK. Got 3050 fps with RL25.

I agree about the 6BR at long range. There was a big flurry in Canadian F Class 2 years ago when Savage brought out the 6BR F Class rifle. Great proclamations about the quality of the European brass and the accuracy at short range. After struggling at 1000 yards on a windy day one too many times, most of those chaps are rebarreling/rebuying to larger cartridges.

Ok Thanks! so it seems that 1-9 1/4 twist may work with the 105s in 243.Yea been wanting to give one a try for awhile now, just have too many more important things going on,but i will get to it soon.
