We finally got both models in, the 4.5 and the 5.25, this is the barrel lengths. They have match barrels in them and they shoot like they are indeed very good barrels. I had been waiting for the 4.5 to come in and after looking it over i bought it.
I got a chance to drive out to the range yesterday and put a few rounds through it. It was in the teens and doing the snow/sun winters here kind of thing so i only got 50rds shot before the toes and fingers said enough. The ammo was from a outfit called LAX and it ran without any problems and the pistol did the same. I should add that this pistol was the cleanest firearm i have bought in many years, it looked like someone had test fired it and then stripped it completely down and removed any traces of anything in it.
I simply wanted to see if it would run so i went to a bay that has racks of 8" steel plates in groups of six and moved back to 15yds and shot 5 out of 6 in the first round. The miss is on me, I'll blame it on learning the gun, the pistol was smooth for the caliber and ran great the whole time. After that i ran six of six each time until my fingers were to cold to load the mags and i had to stop. I should add that this pistol is only 32ozs empty and 40ozs loaded with fifteen rounds so it is maybe a little snappier than a poly .45.
At any rate it is a lot lighter than the Delta elite 10mm i used to carry and easier to carry for me. I think it will be a good/great bear gun for when i go hiking and don't want to carry a rifle, and on top of everything else it was just fun to shoot! I also hear there's a good write up on it in Guns and Ammo but i haven't found a copy yet to see.
