The scoop on using Lil-Gun in the Vartarg

This question has been bugging me so I contacted John Barnsness on the subject,L Sherm and Ledd Slinger were correct Lil-Gun is to fast of a powder for use in the Vartarg,it's a perfect fit for the fireball,it all centers around the difference in neck size,going from .224 to .204 changes the bore/capacity ratio,vartarg needs a slower powder.He also said sperical powders get squirrley at max pressures,and that is exactly what was happening,I just had a hard time giving up on it because it was so outstanding in 221 fireball.

Just what I suspected. I'll keep using it in one of my .221 FBs - at least until I can find some AA1680 to try.

I have been shooting 13.8 gr of little gun and 32gr sbk. for the last 4 years. Over 3,000 rounds thru my pac nor barrel at a vel of 3500 and shooting in the high 1's and low 2;s. You could sure fool me that it is too fast. and it also meters so very well.
