The Practical Marksman Challenge *Alabama*

Registration will be handled in the "Practical Competitions" section of www.ThePracticalMarksman.com

The Practical Marksman Challenge is a project slated for February 23rd and 24th of 2008. The match and its Courses Of Fire specifically will focus on the fundamentals of marksmanship applied to firing a handgun, shotgun, AR-15 style rifle, or precision rifle in a practical situation. The competition will take place on a 2000 acre tract of privately owned property just South of Opelika, in Macon County Alabama. We will host a total of 36 competitors over the 2 day event. Participants will need a minimum of 200 rounds of centerfire rifle ammo and 75 rounds of centerfire pistol ammo. Shotgun and AR platform ammunition will be supplied as well as the guns used for these particular courses of fire. The stages will be interesting and challenging and should offer much to anyone participating. On the final day of the match, the directors will provide a catered meal while final scores are tallied. After the meal we plan to randomly draw competitors names and allow them to choose an item from the prize table donated by our corporate sponsors. There will also be T-shirts for each of the participants with a total list of sponsors on the back of the shirt. The winning shooter will receive a crystal engraved trophy while 2nd and 3rd place will receive plaques.

The Practical Marksman LLC Competition

The PMllc Competition is primarily a challenging rifle competition that will be held February 23rd and 24th, 2008. There will be pistol, shotgun, and AR-15 events within the competition. The shotgun and AR style rifle and ammo will be provided for the shooter.

Competitors will receive an information packet when they register for the match that details required equipment, food, and hydration needs, a listing of motels, restaurants, and recreational facilities in the town of Opelika, Alabama, which is 23 miles from the competition location, and a map with the route to the competition.

The PMllc Competition consists of a number of scenarios where the competitor must locate, range, and shoot the target or targets for each scenario. Laser range finders will be allowed.
The PMllc Competition will be held on a 2000 acre piece of property in Macon County Alabama, 5.5 miles South of US HWY 80 off Macon County Hwy 43, Township16 North, Range 26 East, Sections 20, 21, 28, and 29. The property has no physical address.

The property contains a variety of terrain types where the events will be conducted. The types vary from graded roads, mowed roads, mowed fields, planted fields, light woods looking into shoot areas, and rough clear-cut timber land.

Each event begins with a competitor.
Competitor minimum equipment:

This is the absolute minimum amount of gear required for the match. If you want more, you may bring it, but you must carry it with you at all times, and it must be man portable.

In the PM competition, the longest walk will be approximately 400 yards. The event will have moderate exercise. No running to events will be required; however, the event time limit may require some quick movement on the part of the competitor.
The competitor, carrying gear, needs: the ability to climb a ladder, to walk up steps, to walk down steps, to be able to walk at least 400 yards with all gear, to negotiate slightly rough terrain, and to be able to handle their rifle in position shooting other than prone.

Other longer distance competitor movement will be done by provided transport.

Once the events begin, the property will be locked gate, with no ingress or egress during shooting events.

All participants must sign a liability waiver.
