The MIGHTY 6.5 Creedmoor

Takes the Cup.

Yes, it's true. The MIGHTY 6.5 Creedmoor vanquished the competition in the highly coveted F Class Covid Cup. In very challenging conditions I might add. Formerly mighty 284's and 308's shrank in its presense. It was not the owner of the rifle who won, anyone can point the MIGHTY 6.5 Creedmoor at the target and it will find the X's. In the future I would not be surprised to read that the MIGHTY 6.5 Creedmoor is so MIGHTY that it is found to have a positive impact on Covid outcomes. I'm pretty sure that when Jesus returns to save us all that he will have a MIGHTY 6.5 Creedmoor slung over his shoulder.

Hate it if you will but haters gonna hate.

Feel free to comment. :)

With all the Creedmoor hate I expected a real backlash. How disappointing. Are the masses sorting and filing the points on their Berger 180 Hybrids and 200-20X's while cursing the mighty Creed under their breath? :)

Maybe this will be like the rally in Arizona where Joe and that thing got together with no-one.

"We al know 'the thing'. No reason for anyone to know the facts about the Creed-any-more.

Holders of the Mighty Talisman it has come time to use it's power to cleanse this instigator from our
mist. Phideoux is baring her teeth and is ready to go.

OK, a friend of mine with a 284, who probably would have won the match had he had the same target service I had, has admonished me for what appeared to be a troll. I thought of this thread as more of a safe space for creedmoor haters to let it out but few seem to be playing the game. :)

The reality was that the conditions were bad. Not quite as bad as has been seen at Rattlesnake but not far off. Rare for this range. They were the kind of conditions where you were distracted by the sound of the flags flapping in the wind and the changes were happening regularly. Changes in both intensity and direction. Not to mention that the winds can swirl like a toilet bowl at this range and they were. Blowing one direction at the line and the other direction at the target. We all found our conditions that lead to some consistency. I was lucky and had excellent target service. I could get 3 or 4 rounds off while the conditions were somewhat stable then wait for it to come around again. Even at that I was caught out with an 8 in one of the matches. Never did see where that came from. The gentlemen with the 284 had his conditions but by the time the target came back up, they had changed. He was forced to shoot what was in front of him. The guys shooting FTR were getting blown around quite a lot.

To me this match was a good argument for electronic targets. I'm sure everyone has been saddled with target service issues and of course conditions can change across relay's but the more variables we can eliminate, the better the match in my view. We are going to try and push for electronic targets at this range. Pretty much everyone who shoots there is sold on them.

They had electronic targets at Reade when i shot there.
Was told would not be "official" scoring for NRA if looking to go towards Nationals.

I wasn't attempting to compete for a National setting, (being my first time) so i wasn't worried about that.
Took a bit of time getting set up, and had 1 or 2 lanes that wouldn't read.
Otherwise was pretty interesting setup.

Or possibly after several of these threads most people are over this ridiculous bull$hit.......
Think so? Not so sure about that. Some will always remain committed to what came before and I'd agree that a 6.5x55 does not loose much to the newer calibers like 6.5x47, 260, 264, 6.5 Grendel or 6.5 Creedmoor. The interesting thing to me is that these controversies do not exist to the same degree when it comes to the 6br variants. Should another 6br variant be introduced by a major industry player I would not be surprised to find controversy erupt. As with many things in life, when something new is introduced, someones ox just got gored.
