"The Machine"...Pics.

Joe C

Student of the 1911.
Here is a gun I just finished up building for your viewing pleasure. It is a Centerfire Bulls Eye gun...

CCP00002 is a very special gun to me. The new owner, who is a very dear friend of mine, has dubbed it "The Machine", and so it is. It has a ton of features on it, so many in fact that I'm not going to describe them all but you can see many of them in the pics.

A couple of things I will talk about though. First is the barrels. This gun is in appearance a long slide. But the barrels are actually standard GI length 5" barrels. Fred Totts was kind enough to make cones that I designed for me that are back bored on the front meaning that the last inch of the "barrel" is basically a bloop tube. This makes for a very flat shooting gun and a very cool look on the front end.

Another thing that is unique about the gun is the cosmetic cuts. In a preview picture elsewhere someone mentioned that it looked like Morse Code. In fact it is. There are five "X's" on the gun in various places. That, times the serial number, is 10...as in 10-X for you BE shooters out there.

The grips are the first of their kind...made by my good friends Ed Strange and Jake Rancourt at wickedgrips.com. They are a very rare natural colored Box Elder Burl with a Sterling Silver medallion of my logo set into them. They truly look incredible, especially in the sunlight.

Last is the nitre bluing. You never know exactly what you are going to get with that stuff. Thus, a hammer of gold. Fitting, considering the name of the pistol I think...and it looks great with the grips in my opinion.

So I hope you all enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed building it. And to my dear friend who is getting it, I hope you have a blast shooting it for many years to come! Have a great weekend everyone!

The .38 Super barrel shot pretty good for 10 shots at 50 yards it was .880".

The gun comes with two MSH's. This is the flat one. The other is arched.

Nitre blued recoil plug shows through one of the cuts.

Front of cone on the .38 Super is cut similar to the old Colt pocket models. Why? Because I like the look...

9mm barrel shot decent also at 1.045" for 10 shots at 50 yards.

Front end of the 9mm barrel was cut at 45 degrees just because I wanted it different.

Simply Amazing!!! Attention to detail doesnt even start to explain this thing....I have to ask...If it was for sale what would it run...or about how much money do you all have involved in a build like this...wouldnt suprise me if it was over 5k

Holy F!

That is the nicest, cleanest 1911 I have ever seen. Seriously. I know envy is a sin... but I can't help it. :o

I especially like the slanted muzzle. I like it so much, I gotta do it to one of mine! Hope you don't mind, but imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

Joe,
What kind of slid is that?

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I just enjoy doing what I do...building 1911's for people! And I'm glad you all enjoy seeing my work here.

Fredhorace77: Nothing wrong with asking sir. In order to protect my clients I don't publicity post prices on customers guns but I will say it is above $5K and below $7K...before he added the Aimpoint T1 2MOA dot.

jscandale: I don't mind if you do it. Keep in mind you have to fabricate a special recoil plug in order to make it work properly. The slide is a Caspian.

Well, have a great evening everyone. Back to the bench for me!

How did you get a Caspian slide without that goofy "C" in a wreath that they insist in engraving in all of their slides?

JS, if you call and speak to Gary just tell him you want it with "No Logos" and they will send it without the crest and "C". Also if you want to cut your own cocking serrations as I do just order it bald and bare, no logos, no serrations. They will be glad to give you what you want...and you can feel free to drop my name if you like. Gary and I are friends.

Thanks,

Again, that's a real beauty. I would like to build one just to look at. I need another 1911 like I need another mouth to feed.
