The last of the corona bordom projects

Well looks like I'm going back to work tomorrow, good thing I am beat. I've been trying to get a lot of projects done or at least the big part over with. Something I can work on during my every week 4 day weekend. I built a shooting shed /gun range down by the creek and I thought it would be nice to have a little cabin down there too. I've got scads of material from the barn and lean to shop building that was here when we bought the place and also the trailer house. except for screws and 6 bags of concrete mix it was pretty much free. The framing is almost finished and I'm going to cover it with some old rusty barn tin. It will run horozontal up to the bottom of the windows then change and be vertical the rest of the way up. still need to build the porch and porch roof.cabin 002.jpg cabin 004.jpg

An old friend donated the windows, their going to have hinges at the top and swing open for shooting out of.

I love to see projects like this! I don't have time to build buildings or cabins anymore but I sure appreciate seeing what you all come up with! This is a neat project, I think!

As a youngster, my grandfather used me for cheap labor, banging the nails out of lumber he saved from taking down old additions and houses. I really didn't mind since I was getting to spend a great deal time with him doing what he loved.:D I now have some of that wood as well as the original hickory wood beams from a couple of old barns I took down. Someday I'll get around to building something just for the remembrance and joy of doing it. :)

Thank you all for the kind words . I made trim for the windows and door tonight after work .Getting ready to hang tin this weekend.

Well after 4 days I have the windows and door trimmed out and the outside skin on. Now I know it looks rough but it's supposed to look like it's been there for a long time. I'm going to paint the white trim grey and add some fake rust with rusty metal primer. looks like rain fri. sat. and sun. so I don't know how much I'll get done next weekend. I've two old telephone poles for the porch posts and more rusty tin for the porch roof.IMG_0239.jpg IMG_0241.jpg IMG_0243.jpg

Still have about a bazillion screws to put in and corner trim and rake trim . I have enough tin left over I could do the inside but not till fall.

Looking good. I built several things that I normally wouldn't have had time to finish while working from home/corona scare. Deer feeder, lean to carport / skinning shed off the back of the barn, did some wiring, in the barns. Productive off time , and I bore easily.

It could have been a lot worse had I not been so far behind on projects.I'm not caught up but i'm closer plus I built some new guns

The cabin now has a porch with a roof over it. That's as far as I got after getting those poles in there even with setting them in the holes with the tractor their a bear to get situatedIMG_0288.jpg IMG_0289.jpg

That's all I've got to show for my weekend

Looks very good. I was hoping for a full width porch and a rocking chair for taking breaks. Maybe a wicker back rocker with some ‘character’/ age.

I'm limited to what lumber I had and 7 feet of porch was all I could make. I've got feelers out for an old chair . A rocker would be cool. It's all shaded in the afternoon it was actually pretty nice in there monday afternoon. I've got a bunch of trim and flashing to put on yet and the floor of the porch hopefully I can get that done this weekend. I'm painting the windows but I still need to make a door for it . Seems a bird has already moved in.
