Ok so here's asking the impossible. I have a Kimber Montana in 308 that is getting the 18" barrel chop, beautifully light weight Roedale Delta VI suppressor, aluminium trigger guard, Ti bolt handle, fluted bolt etc with the intention of using the rifle as a light weight rambling rifle of sorts from deer up close in the bush through to rabbits out in the field. The thing I'm really stuck on is scope selection - I don't want to burden the rifle with a massive 30mm scope. Ideally 2-3x at the bottom end & maybe 12x at the top end, 1" tube, compact, light & something dialable would be nice for the longer ranges - Nothing really ticks all the boxes. The svelte Leupold ultralight 3-9x33 with CDS dial looks great but not quite enough magnification & i'm a little worried it may struggle for light gathering, Nightforce 2.5-10 - chunky/ good glass / dialable but heavy, Swaroski 3-10 Z3 with BRH hold over retical. So nothing really that ticks all the boxes so far. The closest thing do date is Leupold VX6 2-12x42 CDS scope - 30mm tube & quite a bulky scope - it would probably look ridiculous on a kimber montana. Any bright ideas or suggestions for the scope department?
