The Front Door/Shingle Chewer!

Little POS. They chewed the black plastic on the my utility trailers stand completely off!!

Destructive tree rats! Sometimes I have a hard time believing they are a game animal in PA. Neighbor feeds them and they drive my Belgian Malanois crazy!

Back when I drove truck and was gone for weeks at a time, one of them got under the hood of my car and chewed on nearly every wire and vacuum hose. Since then it's been war on limb chickens.

I deer hunt at my cousin's place every year. He begs me to come down a week early just to kill off those tree pests! They have chewed the plug wires off his truck twice already!

I live inside city, so I have to be careful when dispatching the tree rats. I once had an orchid of 6 fruit trees...best peaches ever!!! Squirrels would eat bites out of a peach, then go to another. I declared war and created a neat little cartridge. I had an old Winchester 22 hornet(1957 era) and after some experimentation I was shootin a 22 cal pellet at 950 fps using a small pistol mag primer and a small dose of Accurate #5 powder...my 22 Pellornet. It was deadly. I also made a silencer. Acamo hide and I set to work...afternoons and weekends pasted and my total was 99 in a year, including 2 ghogs, and a few crows and rabbits. . I had wonderful peaches, apples and cherries for one season, then, you guessed it...they were back. Thru the following years I lost the battle as the trees died and I moved on to other endevors.

This spring a bare spot in the lawn, near the driveway appeared. I thought I scuffed it with the plow. Over a couple days it has gotten bigger, more rough as well. When I investigated they looked like little craters and tufts of grass.
It wasn't enough to eat the bird feeder, bird seed, garbage can lid and shovel handle. They need to destroy the lawn as well! When I opened the safe I realized I don't own a gun I can use in the neighborhood. So I grabbed a blind (sightless) twenty two air rifle of low quality that I scare deer with and one pellet. Stopped at the door to shoulder and shoot. Huh. Got him. Good. Holy cow he's huge! And wrecking a parking space size of turf! I didn't know they ate grass or roots or maybe insects?
Today when I pulled around the corner, in the lawn pulling up more grass, were three big as cats squirrels. Evidently the big one was keeping the "smaller" ones at bay.
Fun isn't over yet! Darn pests. Shoot well.

rabbits here are getting my garden. I can tell ya the 25 PCP center-punched a 3 shot group touching on a soda can at 70 yards...

Get the extended trailer tow pkg style mirrors and tape a section of pipe insulation to the top. Nice rest with about 20-30 degrees of FOV. Use a RH rifle shooting LH.

Or a loosely filled bunny ear bag on the top of the window shooting RH.

Music and heat/AC as needed.

One of the guys at work had the check engine light come on in his new car. Dealer said it was a squirrel chewed the breather hose off the gas tank. Not warrantied, cost him $1098.00. War is on. He said he killed 150 of em a couple years ago when they were chewing his house, trailer wiring, etc up and they were back in full force the next year. No end to em.
