The Edge tall front bag?

Many, any, people using this taller bag? I picked one up a while back, but don't see that anyone makes any taller side plates to take full advantage of the taller front bag...had anybody seen such? If not, a local gunsmith/fabricator said he could make some up for me, though I'd have to imagine dong a single pair like that would be time consuming (and thus expensive to me).

Probably because it’s not legal in F class shooting to lock down the gun to the front rest. Section 22, 3.4.a attached below.
Now, if you are just talking about using it to shoot small groups and not to compete, then you should be absolutely fine.

The Edgewood tall bags were never designed for FClass. They are, however, completely legal in short range benchrest matches, at least for NBRSA.

And, no, they don't lock anything down. The rifle still recoils very much the same way as other front rest bags.

I got one from edgewood just as the rule change was proposed like 2014 maybe? I never could get it working like i wanted. Lots of extra friction and no more support. It cradles the stock nicely though

Right. I've only shot one NBRSA match in my life, though my guns are mustly short range benchrest rigs (because I had planned on shooting short range benchrest more)...but ultimately I decided I like casual shooting and shooting varmints more. In sum, yeah, I will be using for varmint shooting...thought it would be nice to cradle/encompass the stock just a little more, to reduce rocking, reduce recoil, and reduce the chances of my gun falling off when I'm moving my table (yes, I have quick detach wheels for my table and will sometimes not even bother taking the gun off the rest for quick moves out into a varmint field...I've not had any problems yet, but figured the tall front bag would be even mo betta).

So, for my purpose, I think/hope it could be an improvement upon the short ears, especially if I can get some taller size clamps (I'm going to have the local guy make some up today).

Yeah, I'm guessing that clamping down and creating more friction between bag and stock is not conducive to "benchrest accuracy"...

Post man dropped off a custom Farley bag with soft sand from
Protektor this morning. I noticed it was shorter then my standard
cordura bag from them, but still tall enough to wrap around the
stock especially with the soft sand.

When I said “lock it down” I meant the rifle can no longer be lifted straight up from the front rest.
