The dust settled on the first stock

I just finished the first of eight. Shaped the Savage 110 stock first to get my hands back in practice with the shaping methods. The gun shot well but I didn't like the original stock. This one is Epe. The wood has good color but it's harder than walnut and chips easy. Oil finish. Only sanded this one down to 320 grit. Forend is 2 1/2" wide. The blank came from the local lumber store for $25. It's used for building decks, usually. Doing a Tikka t3 left hand next out of walnut. Backwards should be fun.

WOW!! Looks good Josh!! I have alway thought of building a bolt action pistol, I may have to speed that process up and have you make me a stock for it!

Well, you gotta speak up and get in the que. Three of the eight I'm doing now are for friends. I was ready to buy a duplicator and start a little business until this ITAR thing hit. Ggmac gave me a good line on the equipment. That's on hold. For now, it's just a hobby. A pistol stock would be fairly easy. Repeaters take a little more work. All ya gotta do is......

By the by: How'd your bedding turn out? New build finished?

Bedding is good, she is at the auto body shop getting a few nice coats!
