The Chicken Classic

I just learned that a buddy will no longer be in the chicken business due to the Tyson closure of the Glen Allen, VA plant.

So, 4 63'x500' indoor shooting ranges have just become available in the central VA area.....

I wonder if they can be repurposed for 100-150 yard ranges?

Thanks, Tyson. Your management skills just keep sucking bigger and bigger. I figured something like this was bound to happen after your Chick-fil-A fiasco a while back.....

Any thoughts on turning these houses into an indoor facility?

A #9 comes to mind, or at least that’s what my Dad called it when he handed it to me.0233B1D1-3082-4FA1-80C9-8D61CF82E183.jpeg

Will need a major donor to make them indoor facilities. The bullet traps, baffles, and air system will cost a millions for facilities that size. That is if you do it correct and follow all guidelines.

I'd pile up a 9' dirt bank at the end of each, have an exclusive, small membership very small numbers, and expensive enough for Maintenace and insurance. Guest privileges by appointment only. Benches within 10' of an open roll up door, keep the door up when shooting. Card access gate, cameras, sign in and out. Loading/cleaning benches, solid partitions between the shooters, FEW shooters per building.

Check local county ordances first and foremost, and politics from the county inspector is going to be a major hurdle. The Karen soccer moms in the area will find a way to complain on the noise. Insurance maybe the nail in the coffin.

I would not tell anybody much just a few people and have some Houston warehouse fun at first, then maybe a facility, would be a air rifle gem

It's doubtful that he will want to go the full blown interior facility, just a big-assed covered shooting lane with some fans on the sides.

just out of curiosity, what's the difference in a modified vs non modified.....and PLEASE don't say the modified one is modified....wait, is this a modified run on sentence?
The open walls vs. the closed in top half. Even a box fan will mess up your shooting if you try for a tunnel type setup
