The 300 Remington Ultra Magum Load

I have developed a good shooting load for my 300RUM
Bullet Barnes Long Range X 200 grain
81.0 grains of RETUMBO this is the mid range load the max charge is 86.0
This load has the knockdown powder of a atomic bomb & yet it's not stomping you either
I will not ever change this load it's an awesome load my Rem loves it

I also wonder what velocity you are getting... My .300RUM shoots a 200gr Accubond BUT with 96.0grs of Retumbo. I am getting 3225f.p.s. out of a 26" barrel... I can only guess, however, my guess is that you are down to .300Win Mag velocities... Nothing to sneeze at for sure>>>>however, if you are, you would not be using the full value of the RUM! But as I stated, I do not know your velocities..

I use 100 grains of Retumbo in MY RIFLE, 180 Nosler Balistic Tip, 26" sporter barrel. It lays the smack down...

It sounds like thae load is on the light side for an UltaMag. I run 97 gr of Retumbo behind a 180 gr Barnes MRX or TTSX for hunting. Not easy on brass, but why have an UltraMag if you can't use it?

depends on the chamber. I have had a couple of full custom 300RUM's one 30" and one 32" Both shot Retumbo and 215 bergers one with 88 grains and the other with 93 grains. I would have to say the OP's load sounds like a power level II load or like a good win mag.
