Couple of you have heard that I came down with the virus last week. After a few days of a raspy cough, I lost my taste and smell. tested Positive on Saturday. Things were not so bad till Tuesday. Had a bit of touch and go last night with breathing, thought I was hospital bound but a late call and 955PM run to the pharmacy by the bride got some prednisone and different inhaler. Along with some focused prayer and God's gracious willingness, I settled down, slept and fever broke at 2AM. Today has ben a bit better, still wheezy, but fever way down, appetite up and some taste coming back. (I don't have much taste...)

Wife tested positive today, but she yelled at the virus and it left. Seriously. She had it for like one day. Then she was out mulching, mowing the lawn, taking insulation out of the attic, caring for me, then she had breakfast. Amazing creature I married.

daughter has it too, but not effecting her same way. She has gastro issues. Was in ER today for meds and anti-inflammitories. I think she was Typhoid Mary and brought it in. But she has been able to be a nurse helper and sure helped me.

Looking back I wouldn't do anything different. We travelled. We masked as needed, did the sanitizer thing, but we lived a whole year. And I got it either at home from a kid or at work (a school), NOT doing the things we are not SUPPOSED to do, like travel.

But I can tell you it isn't a joke. It is humbling to know you could be checking out. Especially when you are choking and coughing so hard you puke. Scary stuff.

But I wanted to thank the couple guys who knew and prayed for me. Dellet, Rebel, Fredo, Mark in OK.

I think I am past the major part of it.

And on the lighter side, the only good thing about this virus is you can fart and it seriously does not smell! Honest!

Good luck in your recovery. Not much you can do to keep from getting it short of getting in a bunker. The best n95 masks made have openings 300% bigger than the virus so thats not much help. Glad to hear you and the family are over the hump. Itll affect your lungs for quite a while if youre like most but it sounds like you got it under control!

Snert, glad to hear you are recovering. I'm the guy that said; were all going to get it it or we ain't. Have several symptoms. Been spending a lot of time resting. Feel like I did about 4 seconds on a PBR bull. Judging by how long it took me to enter this message, a little brain fog. Again hope you recover.

Snert, glad to hear you are on the rebound! I too got the virus who knows where from but I have also lived my life completely during the last year. I will put a mask on when required but my gut feeling is they don’t do any good. I too lost my sense of taste and smell. It’s been two months now and one benefit is I can walk through somebody’s fart cloud at Walmart not even know it !!! seems like it happens all the time. Now that I survived the Covid I need to prepare myself for the invasion of the ticks with the warmer weather, where I live they are everywhere!

May God continue to bless you with a full and quick recovery.

As for farts, they are possibly the biggest spreader of this type of virus. I read an article early on last year by a virologist saying that a cough spreads the disease 6-8 ft in a focused band of spray. The fart plume is omnidirectional and can extend 20 ft. Since all mucus is produced in the intestines the viral load there is highest. So in reality it was not masks everyone should have been wearing but Depends.

I had it last June and still don't have my sense of taste and smell back completely. Good luck on your recovery.
Cheers

Me too, my only symptom was loss of smell. Its been 6 months and I still dont have my smell back. This week my taste is all out of whack. Not sure if its tied to my smell / covid. Everything tastes dull with an almost metallic aftertaste.

Get well. It's weird how some folks get it really bad and others just kinda feel a little punky and it's over. Thankfully our house was in the latter. But you are right on the sense of taste.

Glad it's under control. Watch out for that Prednisone stuff. I can barely fit into the pants that were too big last year after 2 rounds of the stuff earlier this year.
