Thank God President Bush is almost OUT of office! The country couldn't take much more...As for the ruling, it has to be one of the greatest victories for gun owners in last 50 years! But, thank the judges not the president. Any republican president would have appointed the same justices,or those with equal views). It certainly is a good day for America and an even better one for gun owners!

For all you guys that support liberal politicians regardless of their party. Please please read the dissenting judges opinions and think about what those positions mean to us that enjoy shooting or hunting.
Then ask yourself, do I as a shooter really want to continue to vote for people that want to take away a fundamental right and something that we and our families enjoy?

2 appointed by George W. Bush voted for our gun rights = 100%

2 of 2 voted against our gun rights = 100%

I seldom enter into political conversations but I must here. Why blame President Bush when both houses are controled by the Democrats and both whips are ultra liberals?

The point is not about who is there now, though it it weren't for Bush's appointees this would not have passed. The conservatives got screwed with Souter, there is one of the no's.
More importantly it is about who will be appointed in the next administration?

If you are a gun owner, and you vote for Obama, I hope the ATF comes you your houses first when they start rolling up "unapproved weapons". I've listened to that idiot here in Illinios long before some twit decided a rookie senator with absolutely no experience should be our Commander In Chief.

I believe I was reciting facts, if you like take the names Bush and CVlinton out. replace them with there party titles. As you say if Obama is elected we will get more of the same from that party. You just have to look at there voting records, I believe those are facts too.

I certanly do not agree with everything he has done, although people forget the things he has had to deal with like 911.Remember WWII started because of a sneak attack and that was on a military instalation that killed less people than 911 and they were civilians! Congrees approved the war not just bush. Look at the money he spent/is spending to rebuild New Orleans, Billions. If he hadn't done that he would be called a Racist.

Bush has kept this country safe from another terrorist attack and has taken other steps to protect this country. In my book, all that matters to me is that my country has a President who will defend her and keep our military strong no matter what it takes.
The only thing I care about is the safety and security of this great country and that our Military stay strong. Without that, your economic worries would no longer matter, because you would no longer have a country to spend money or make money.
I know economics are important but it does not even compare to the importance of the Safety and Security of this great country. That being said, BUSH and the Military have done an awesome job protecting our country. In my book President Bush has done a spectacular job and THANK GOD FOR OUR MILITARY MEN AND WOMEN!!!!!!! On to John McCain, I am not a huge fan of some of his latest votes, however, I know one thing is certain, John McCain will defend this country with all her might. John McCain has years of political and military experience, and He is a man of Integrity, Honor, and Courage. Obama, he gives a great speech and that's about it. Which one are you going to vote for? I will be voting for the man that will keep this country safe and secure and the one who will NOT talk to our enemies unless they surrender. While in my local gun shop the other day, I read a letter laying on the counter addressed to the owner from Wayne LaPierre,NRA honcho). He was asking all gun shop owners to indicate on a return postage card whether their business was located within five miles of a school or municipal park. The reason NRA needs this info is because Obama introduced a bill in the Illinois legislature to close any gun shop located within that distance from all schools and parks in the state. NRA suspects that as President, he would push this idea on a Federal level.

This entire thread should be deleted...objectivity has been completely lost. Everyone should listen to the oral arguments of this case, and hopefully a portion of the 'People' will learn something about how judges make decisions and what they consider, i.e. British Common law, etc. rather than just reading the words of an amendment.
By the way, amendments can be repealed.
