I wish to thank the administrator, Jay Christopherson, for cleaning up a rather heated political thread. Leave politics to politicians and protestors, neither of which knows when to use restraint. We don't need it here.
Because it's human nature. They want to be able to complain. MattIf it upsets you why do you read it? Nothing says you have too.

I appreciate the grace that the forum boss showed over the last few months. By allowing some of the discussions (till they turned to name calling etc) it allowed me to find fellow shooters who share other values I have. While I do not think of online folks as "friends" in the true sense of the word, I was encouraged to know that there is an affinity, and I think of some I have gotten to "know" with more affection. I do think that some political activity is necessary in our sport, as such activity is an outgrowth of our values and the fact that it is in the political realm our rights are secured. Now that the "season" is over, it is fine with me to return to talk of neck turning, varmints, nice rifles and the age old Remington vs Winchester Vs Savage vs Tikka arguments. (I like Remingtons....)
I mean it when I say that I am grateful to Jay for the lee-way and for the discipline shown. We have a great forum.
Respectfully,
Snert
I love a little lively debate centered on controversial topics. I don't like folks who stir the pot for the sake of stirring.
Like Snert, I enjoy finding folks who share my way of thinking, and I get a silly little ego boost when someone agrees with me.
Arguments seem to get more heated these days and as usual, folks who know the least, seem to know it the loudest. (not my material) I think that we should always try for friendly, logical, reason, and carefully word it in a way that we would be proud to put our name on. If we do this, we can discuss any topic without getting anyone's feelings hurt, let alone banned from the forum.
It seems crazy that we'd need a referee to break up disputes on this playground, but we've got them, and I hope they don't mind. I for one don't want this to be "guns only or get the hell out". I don't think that it's like that in a gun club, hunting blind, gun show, or anywhere that we gun-nuts gather. jd
For this Aussie, the Ignore Thread tool has been the best thing since sliced bread, speaking of which, how did they portion bread before knives were invented?
Perhaps the phrase 'breaking bread' offers a clue...For this Aussie, the Ignore Thread tool has been the best thing since sliced bread, speaking of which, how did they portion bread before knives were invented?
