Thank you, Frank, for inviting me to the McDonald Sportsmen's Range. And for inspecting my bores with your borescope. It was a pleasure meeting you, Frank.
Frank is a true gentleman and was a gracious host. I enjoyed myself at the range.
Frank's borescope showed all three of my rifle bores to be in great condition including my 243 wssm with 620 plus rounds down the pipe. He found a small dimple/bump/crater on one of the lands about 6" in front of the throat on the 243 wssm but it didn't affect accuracy as the gun was perfect on steel at 600 yards, and 500 & 400 meters. I'm guessing the steel was 6" x 6".
I was also reasonably satisfied with my 6mmXC, but the 284 was another matter entirely. I shot two different loads at 400 meters and the better load was a 3" group. I then shot a 4 shot group at 100 meters and 3 of the 4 shots went nearly into the same hole with the fourth 3/8" away. Berger 180 Hybrids/H4831sc/215M. I'm dumbfounded. I will check torque on the action screws and all scope mounting hardware. Anybody have any suggestions?
