Teslong bore scope

Best way to adjust focus ? In a 223 is the mirror closer to the end of the cable or farther back to get the best focus ?

Mirrors are adjusted by trial and error by moving in and out and depend on bore diameter for focusing. Not real consistent from barrel to barrel. Mine (all three models I own) seem to focus best moved inwards, but yours may vary. The various sizes of mirrors are really more to provide "fuller" images by doing a better job of centering the mirrors in the bore rather than just "flopping" around.

I haven’t used in my 223s, but I think you switch the mirror to get the best focus. If I remember right it comes with three different ones.
I have the smallest mirror in mine now, will one of the bigger mirrors fit in a 223 barrel ?

Easiest way I found is to go in through the muzzle. Insert the mirror assembly so the angled mirror is in the tube, with the screw base exposed. Hold the mirror, and screw the flexible shaft in and out until you get a good focus, then screw the lockring against the mirror. If you want to make sure it doesn't move, carefully tighten the lockring with a pair of pliers, and add a dab of nailpolish.

Don’t know if they changed since I bought mine but I got 3 mirrors. 2 not colored and 1 red. I believe the red one is a different angle to reduce the light from reflecting back to the camera.

That is correct for the earlier manufactured mirrors that I have as well as the way it is listed on Teslong's current website. The five-mirror set is a 'must-have' for viewing bores larger than .224". The mirrors run up to .40+. The smallest mirror they make is for .224". You can use the bare probe on .20-caliber bores, but not with a mirror. You are reduced to only a straight down the bore look. Sadly, my .17-calibers are out of luck!

I am able to use the angled mirror on my 20 cal bores by doing the following:

Bevel the edge of the mirror slightly with hand held diamond stone or very fine wet paper

Let the mirror float slightly against the adjusting lock collar

Be gentle

Just test it. Don't need to get too OCD. There is a pretty wide range where you can see what you need.

I didn't have to do anything for it to work in my 20 cal barrel.

When my 20VT barrel was new, it wouldn’t fit. Now that it has 2400 rounds down it, the teslong fits a good 4” down from the start of the throat. Lands and all still appear intact, so apparently it’s a very subtle amount of erosion/expansion in size.
