Team's GAP 6.5 Creedmoor rifles are in

Well the brown clad Santa stopped by a little while ago and delivered my new 6.5 Creedmoor rifle from GA Precision. Specs are:
GAP Templar receiver
28" Kreiger MTU contour 8" twist barrel
Manners T3 stock
Badger DBM
Weight as shown 17lbs

A big thanks to George, Moon and Nick at GAP for all their help and hard work in getting the rifle out to me. Also thanks to Hornady for providing the barrel and Tom Manners for getting the stock done in a timely fashion. Unfortunately I can't get to the range today and have to work tomorrow but Saturday will be the day. My team mate Tony's rifle came in today also so hopefully I can get some pics of his up here too as it is a little different becasue it's built on a Surgeon action, Manners T4A stock and has a Surefire break for his can.

She isn't flashy but she's meant for business not looks. As some know I love the HTG stocks but when Manners came out with the T3 which has their MCS-T rear end and a forend like the T2 I figured I'd try it out and I'm glad I did. The stock feels great in the hands and with the higher comb, compared to the HTG, it doesn't need any padding to be usable with 1" height rings. If you like the basic style rear end but wanted more up front then try the T3 on your next build or stock swap.

Here's some pics of Tony's rifle he put up at the Hide. His specs are:
Surgeon SA
28" Kreiger MTU contour 8" twist barrel
Manners T4A stock, gota love the KMW checkpiece)
Badger DBM
Surefire magnum Brake
Harris bipod with POD claws from Phoenix Tactical

There is a reason for the Pod Loc looking that way. When using the sling in positions my finger would be pressed hard against the hard plastic Pod Loc and you can imagine that it doesn't feel good under recoil with a .308 let alone a 300WM which that bipod was on before. So some neoprene and duct tape later and it makes shooting a whole lot nicer. As I mentioned I got this thing for business and not looks so I don't really care how it looks as long as it works.

Rob,

Please contact me at mailbox@6mmBR.com re possible GOTWeek article.

Nice rig you've got--I'm way jealous of the optics. S&B has superb glass.

How does that rig shoot and can we get one made and at what cost? That thing is SCHWEET!

Mod e-mail inbound. And thanks.

Mudcat, first thanks for all your info on the 6.5 loads. It has been interesting reading and helpful as I will start loading in the next few weeks.

As for the rifle, haven't shot it for groups yet. Just did some break in yesterday. Hopefully this week I'll get some more range time. As to cost, like it is it would probably run about $2800 give or take. That's minus the optics and rings of course ;)

Finally made it to the range today with some 140s and 120s to get some grouping done. For factory ammo it shot pretty good. I can't wait to start loading for it to squeeze every bit of accuracy out of it.
5 shot with the 140 AMAX at 100. Always have to pull one ;)

3 shot with the 120 AMAX at 100

10 shot group with the 120s at 200 yards the 140s were a hair larger for their 10 shot group. There was about a 5-8mph 9 to 3 o'clock wind blowing.
