TC Encore long range?

Would a man be crazy to build a 6.5-284 Encore and expect it to shoot well at 6-700 yards? Anyone with experience out there? I have not come across this at all but love the Encore rifles.

Crazy, yes. While I have an encore, and like it, I would NEVER dream of trying to turn one into a LR gun. Now, if you just want to build it to take a shot or two at 600+ yards now and then, sure, its your money. But if you are talking competition or multiple rounds, a break action rifle is NOT the way to go.

My first 6.5x284 was a custom Bullberry 24" full bull high-blue luster barrel with removable brake complete with a threaded cap. Bullberry uses a hanger system with their barrels and guarantees sub moa accuracy. It was set in one of Bullberry's custom heavy laminated stocks with a wide varmint forearm, with scope this is a 12 pound Encore. This barrel has no problem producing sub moa performance at out to 300 yds. The next year I purchased a 8tw Kreiger 30" HV 6.5x284 for one of my switch barrel 700 and the Bullberry barrel has been setting in a barrel bag in my gun safe ever since. I'm not a competitive shooter I just enjoy shooting a few dogs beyond 500yds. Will a good Encore with a trigger job and a hanger system do that, hell yes you bet but I'd never consider using one in long range competition.
