TC contender old vs G2

I don't know about the "first" series, but I have some frames that I bought back in the 80's that I have put G2 barrels on.

I, too, have used a G2 barrel on my frame from early 80's
Don't exactly know what is a "first model" is but suspect it should work.
Just call a retailer like EABCO and get the definitive answer to be sure before you buy.

Thanks for the replies and info. Mine may just be an 80's model, I've found a g2 barrel that suits my needs and am going to go ahead with purchase. Thanks again.

Will a tc contender G2 barrel fit on a older first series contender frame?
They are all interchangeable except for the armour alloy barrel and frames. These have a coating on them that makes all the parts just a little thicker(hing pins are smaller on the armour alloy barrels and frames.).. You can machine the hinge pin hole up a little and make them interchangeable though.

I did read somewhere that the earliest contender frames had the hinge pin location at a slightly different location which they moved to make the action open easier. I have an old one and it was either modified(which can be done) or they do fit and I just don't notice any difference other than it is hard to open with the newer barrels.

Both of my frames are from before the “easy open” nonsense, neither has been modified, and both function fine with older and G2 barrels.
