Yes, a unusual spike. I’m double checking with him right now, but it was a whitetail competition.

Okay, 7 yr old whitetail that he knew well. Very aggressive, they called him runt.

Great mounts...there used to be a couple really good taxidermist around here. But, like a lot of things they just aren't around anymore. I intend to have a full body black bear in the not too distant future...I seriously don't have a clue where I will get it done....

There was a guy in Balt. county that did a full mount of a black bear for me quite a few years ago. Mikes Taxidermy. He is in Perry Hall, MD.

Thank you sir for posting...Do you know if he is still there and operational??? That is only 2 hours away, and still the closest I have found or heard of so far.

I have not used him in a while (but still would)
I think he is still there, I punched in his info and his face book page came up with phone number and address. If I remember correctly, he was on Lolly Lane in Perry Hall. It is about 10 minutes off of I-95 near White Marsh.

There is a Taxidermist in Kerrville, Texas where I used to get my mounts done AND they were excellent at meat processing too. They are called Rhodes Bros. Taxidermy. I have seen some really awesome mountings. There was even one with a HUGE Eland head that was on a mount that was incredible. The wood work on it was beyond anything I have seen in Taxidermy AND the thing slowly turned 360 degrees on a "hidden / silent" motor. The woodworking had a bright brass plaque inscribed with a short "story" of the hunt and the size / measurements of the animal. When I would go in there for Deer processing or the occasional mount, I would drool over all the animals in there! That is a lasting memory for me!
