Tariffs on US Gun Products in Canada

Got this from my on-line gun shop where I order most components. Great news for us up here ( Canada)

Big news. The tariffs introduced back in Spring have been more or less completely reversed as far as the shooting related products are concerned. Firearms and parts, ammunition and components, optics etc. This is great news and means that we should expect to go back to normal operations when it comes to importing goods from US. It will take some time for prices to normalize but at least we can hope for no more huge increases. Will the the tariffs come back in the future? That will depend on the larger geopolitics, but we hope this is past us for now.

Will things get cheaper? Some, but not all. We thing that lots of importers buffered the tariffs with bringing lots of goods pre tariff to keep the pricing and this means that they will remain the same. For the goods that got affected by it they should be slowly going back.

MR .Brooks would you please inform MR. Henry Rempel of this information. I tried to order a bipod and was told he couldn't send it to me on account of the regulations and tariff issues Thank you

Any materials Henry Rempel is sourcing from the States might be getting hit hard with tariffs.
The Canadian Border Service Agency is getting pretty ridiculous about what they're doing. They tack on charges, and then it is up to you to appeal them.
I just finished dealing with some stupid, improperly allocated fees. Hoping I get my money back.

Not great news for a lot of vendors, they get caught with high priced merchandise. Hard to compete with items that were brought over after tariffs. Feel bad for them. Hopefully nobody loaded up, but I'm betting there is a lot of 25% plus of it on shelves. Be nice if the government reimbursed them.

I guess that is why it is said in the article that prices will take a while to go down. But on the other hand I wonder how many merchants stocked up before the tariffs came into effect but sold with tariffs included. I somehow feel that most will get their money back or in other ways already have.

If that was the case but how can they offer 25% off all of a sudden? Only because they jacked up the price by 25% for merchandise already setting in the shelves when the tariffs hit.

I guess that would depend on the vendor, our local guy certainly never did that.
