Tape off the tang?

Do any of you tape off the rear of the tang on an action with a recoil lug? Something like an M action that has the keyed lug and a square tang. In my mind, it would be undesirable to have 2 recoil lugs because it would be difficult to maintain 100% contact on both. It seems any slight change could un seat one lug, whether its temperature, pressure on the st (bags slightly spaced farther apart). It cant hurt, but seems like it "could" help.

I'm no gunsmith but I have watched a few Darrell Holland videos. He does tape or relieve around the tang of Winchesters to avoid a second recoil lug. If thats the way that man does it I would myself.

Just don't work on the rear of the action, until the front is done, and you can test it. If it's no bueno, bed it in the rear.
