Tank's gun shop???

Years ago I bought a Remington with a 7/08 barrel on it. Only markings on the barrel are Tanks Gun Shop and the caliber. Has anyone ever heard of Tanks Gun Shop? I'm just curious as to the origin of the gunsmith.

I saw the Tank's rifle shop but can't say it the same as Tanks Gun Shop. Its just curiosity, no big deal.

If it is Jon Tanks, he is a great gunsmith. He was at one time, early in his career, a seasoned gunsmith and General Manager for C&S (Cylinder and Slide shop). He produced many winning handguns, especially for Bullseye competition.

Yes, met him a number of years ago in Fremont, NE while taking a 1911 class at Cylinder & Slide from Bill Laughridge.

Jon did a bunch of work on my SA M-1A back in '87 IIRC. It was a decent shooter before I sent it off to him, but his bedding job, reaming the flash suppressor, etc made a measurable improvement. I know a few other guys who used Jon Tank - all reported satisfaction with his work.
