Tactical/Target Rifle w/WOOD

A while back I read about your "Rootbeer" sequence, but I couldn't find it.

This stock certainly has Rootbeer vibes in person.
Well you definitely absorbed what you read, cuz that rig is gorgeous!!

I have access to a bandsaw, but it's a 30 minute drive. I was too excited to start carving, so I skipped that step. NEVER again!

I'll be taking each blank to the bandsaw before carving. I wasted a LOT of time and some good small pieces of wood that could have been used in later projects.
I imagine you've figured out dyeing a BIG OL guitar face would be a lit easier than a rifle stock where the largest surface is the butt. Lol
I was reading a thread awhile back where a fella made the comment of "silly guitar dye jobs" my guess is that member just didn't have the ability to pull off a quality dye job.
Grab some drops and play with some fades.
Use a damp towel to wet/dampen surface your working in.
Have diluted colors along with your concentrate.
Exta wet towels to dab your applicator on helps to adjust strength, as well as dry towls to remove excess dye
Start with your lightest color working from inside out
Here is a torified maple inlet used a mixture of black and brown for the smokey edges orange and vintage amber creating a burst "silly guitar dye job" in roughly 2" of surface. Lmfao 20251028_161316.jpg20251028_184702.jpg20251028_184652.jpg20251028_184622.jpg
Keep your applicator small and tight, and just have fun with it.
Stock is a @Southwest Action Works FTR.
