T2k tenon

Anyone have a T2k tenon drawing? All I’m really interested in is the breech. Cone, flat, cone w/ flat? The bolt is partially coned, but has a significant flat on the nose. A coned breech at a similar angle would leave too much case exposed. Any reason not to just cut it flat?

I do not have an actual drawing of the tenon but do have a T2000. The original barrel had a cone with no flat. For cartridges based on 6mm Br or other brass that has a thinner case head, cutting the barrel face to mirror the bolt nose is advisable for the reason that you have noted. The cone is supposed to help with feeding from the magazine. I know of several that have cone with flat faces that feed fine. A flat face may have problems feeding from the magazine but I have no first hand experience with one fitted this way.

If only a single shot a flat bolt face will probably work ok. I don't find the cone hard to do even if I add a flat.

I've done several, all coned, 25 degree IIRC.
Always worked well.

The barrel cone is nothing more than a feed ramp and does not need to match the angle on the bolt face, and so it can be a lesser angle such as 20 degrees. It does however need to be within about .010 at the bolt nose so you don't have too much case exposed. If you have the action you can use feeler gauges to sneak up on this dimension. Another thing to keep in mind is that these rifles were made so that barrels would interchange but after measuring headspace on several T2K's it's a pretty good stretch.
