t/c rifles

i have a question ,and i hope y'all can help me with it. i have a t/c encore and i have read on one of the forums i go to ,that i could cot part of a shotgun hull to fit the post of the forearm on the encore and this would float the barrel and make it group tighter.. i figure if t/c knew this they would put a washer like spacer there them selves ,but all i know about is the shooting part haha.would this make a diffrence or not. just wondering cause i was gonna use an o-ring instead

I have played around with my encore a fair amount and I made pillars for the front and back screw holes on the forearm. It seems to have helped a little but probably not worth the effort to do.
If you use an O ring I would guess it would not make a difference. The point is to make a rigid mount for the forearm and create a gap to float the barrel.

I have a G2 Contender in 204ruger.I put a Encore thumbhole stock on, using a OTT clip to allow for the smaller frame.I had Bullberry make a semi-finished target forend, and a barrel hanger for the forend. This gave me a free floating barrel,a longer, flatter, wider, forend, with more weight.

I use hanger bars on all my for ends but the fore arm as to be channeled out to accept one. I have tried numerous things and the hanger bar gives the best accuracy. But there are many ways to stop the fore end from coming in contact with the fore arm. There are many methods. On the other hand I have had fore mds that required nothing and they shot very good. Shoot it first and worry later. I sold all my Thompson rifles and only own bolt action rifles now but still have all my pistols. Good Luck Lou
