T/C Compass Remage Barrel?

Good afternoon,

Does anyone know if its possible to use a remage barrel on a T/C Compass action? I have done extensive research on this topic, but I can't seem to find any answers. I have a 6.5 Creedmoor TC Compass, and would like to replace the barrel with a Remington 700 Criterion SS 28in remage bull barrel. Not sure if it would work. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Based on my research, they have the same barrel thread pitch. Other than the fact that the barrel nut may end up proud on the action (or the action may be proud), I don't see why it wouldn't work.

theres lots of reasons it might not work.

I would recommend you remove the barrel either your self or someone else that has the tools to do it properly and measure.

I do not think it is doable. The bolt face designs are completely different. I am going from memory though since I do not have a Remington 700 in front of me.

The Rem 700 bolt face protrudes far in front of the locking lugs and is surrounded by a ring of steel. The the bolt head on a T/C Compass the lugs are flush with the end of the bolt body and the bolt face is indented from there.

You might as well be attempting to use a Winchester Model 70 Pre-64 barrel on a Remington. Just not going to work.

People actually make a pre-fit for the T/C Compass last I checked so no need to go down this path.

It was such a easy google search I should charge you for it! No one appreciates anything down for free! LOL
