Swivel stud adapter with TBAC bipod

I really want a Thunderbeast bipod but they need to mount to a picatinny rail. My stock (AG Composite) only has a swivel stud. I see they make a swivel stud to picatinny adapter but have never used one. Anyone have experience/recommendations for an adapter? I worry that by the time I add the adapter connected to the swivel stud, connected to the bipod, that it won’t be/stay stable. I currently run a Harris and I have a hard time getting a consistent load on it. Thoughts?

I think we are at point where updating rifles to modern standards is the route to take. Mounting a rail is superior to a swivel mount. There are any number of YouTube videos showing the process (tapping a second hole to secure rail to the stock). There is no reason to retain the swivel stud, which becomes no longer accessible for practical use... replace with a hex head bolt. There are accessory mounts for either a QD or traditional sling swivels that can then be attached to rail when needed. There are even some rails that incorporate a QD socket as part of rail extension.

I would add that there are a few offerings for pic rail sections that also have a swivel stud on the end. That would be the ultimate, since you could then attach the bipod and “sling up” at the same time.

This article lists one option and gives a step by step instruction, in the event that you are not so handy around the garage.
