Swiss RS 80 Powder - Looking for a way to acquire some in the U.S. if possible ?

LA50SHOOTER

Sworn To Protect The Constitution.
Fellow Reloaders, & Knowledgeable Sources on Importing, - I want to try this powder. - Any information on How to go about getting it legally on this side of the pond ?

If they can get it in south africa chris at bulletcentral can get it here but i dont think its available there. I believe kelblys is an importer of a bunch of stuff you may call them in a few weeks when theyre over the super shoot.

RS-80 might be the same as RL-50

No - Not the same - Made in different plants, It's slower than RL-33 and faster than RL-50. - I want it for a couple of CheyTac based cartridges. In particular a 375 Improved version to push the heavies.

Thanks, - Ron -

Thanks Dusty, - I appreciate that, It's worth a try & if anything those folks (Kelbly's) may know the "how too" go about it if it is possible to do.
- I'd be willing to purchase up to 32 - 48 Lbs. of it if necessary & what I don't use i could post for sale on the classifieds. - This stuff is suppose to be the "cat's meow" for the CheyTac's from some info that I've read & I want to try it.

LA50SHOOTER,
While I am not 100% certain, I feel pretty sure the RS80 is EI Niesen 170EA, which Nitrochemie developed specifically for our Reloder(R) 33.
The reason I feel this is because they list it as the same burn speed on their "relative burn off velocity" chart. https://www.reload-swiss.com/en/media/editor_media/reload_swiss/pdf/Burnrate_Chart_dt.pdf
Regarding your comment about being made in a different plant, I'm not sure what that is about, unless they have built a new factory since I last visited.
Good luck in your application LA50SHOOTER,
Paul

Paul, Thank You for your input. - Not that I have Any objections to RL-33 or RL-50 as I use both extensively and both have great performance (especially RL-33). - Paul, I'd found some information (loading data) on RS80 being used in the 375 Cheytac and as well I compared it with what Quick-Load Software generated. - The loads with RS80 use more weight (of powder) and I ran a comparison of RS80, Alliant RL33 & RL50. It "appears" that RS80 is midway between 33 & 50. - That was my purpose for wanting to test it with 377 & 400 gr. bullets in an Improved 375 version that I shoot. And to achieve a greater loading density with the heavier weight projectiles.
I do realize that a lot of different data makes its way onto the internet & some possibly has cause for question, but Quick-Load surely showed a significant difference in these 2 powders (RL33 versus RS80) when parameters being equal were entered. - And I also realize that Q/L is not gospel and does contain some errors.
I realize that probably there isn't a market demand for Reloader "40 something" & I was looking for a powder to fill the gap for a specialized situation. (If possible).

Again, Thank You & Kind Regards, - Ron -
