Swedish M-38 question

I have a M-38 Swede,its all original and i don't wish to modify it, My question is : is there anything that i could do to improve its accuracy, like barrel bedding,,,i read an earlier post about using silicone as a bedding compound. at the moment using the ammo it likes best [Prvi Partisan 139gr BT FMJ ] I can consistantly shoot 2in groups @ 200yds. i realize this may be the top of its game until i can start to reload for it. any help would be great . thanks,Mike

2" groups at 200yds, with irons is pretty damn good. I'd lay odds that there are a lot of new Remchesters that can't do it consistently. Personally, I wouldn't mess with the rifle itself and would just work on loads for it. One trick that works well is to stoke it up with the big 156-160gr round nose bullets. The rifles were throated for the extra long pills, and you can get them near and even into the rifling, which you can't do with the 140's.
