Swarovski question

Howdy everyone. I was wondering if anyone here uses the Swarovski American scope for a hunting application. I've been currious if the American line is made in Austria, or assembled somewhere else. Thanks, RidgeRunner.

Hi there, I use Swarovski 2.5-10 x 42 on my stalking rilfe. It's brilliant, but is very marginally beaten in the very last light by my friends Schmidt of similar size. Either are better than anything made by other brands.

In general I recommend to go for the 30mm main tube versions,they will allow more light through), I think the "AV" series, which are built for US users, have 1" main tube.
Also I love the 1st plane reticule for a deer stalking scope.

If you're going to fit the best, don't compromise it with 1" tube, and 2nd plane reticule.

30MM tubes allow for more range of adjustment not light. The light levels are increased by having a larger obj lense. OBJ size/power=exit pupil.,56mm/10=5.6mm)All the Swarovski line is great. I have both. Just like Zeiss and the Conquest line. You cant go wrong.

OK, explain the first and second plane thing. Is it the second plane that the reticule gets bigger as the power is turned up? Or is it the other way? I can never remember.

First plane is where the crosshairs get bigger.
