Swap meets to help alleviate shortages?

With the way component shortages have been for over a year now, I was wondering if local area swap meets might be organized.
For example, I have some powder, primers, and bullets that I am no longer using. So maybe we could have a Phoenix area meet (possibly at a range or gun store parking lot) to trade with others for their components they are no longer using.
And maybe others around the country could arrange the same thing in other cities.

Is it legal to sell powder without an ffl that allows the legal sale? I would think arranging it at a local gun club would be a better idea out of the public eye.I could be way off here but with the current political atmosphere I would do it in safe place so to speak.Privately!

I was thinking more along the lines of barter, so to speak. I'll trade you my one pound of RL-22 powder for your box of 100 105 AMax bullets, etc. Or I'll trade you 1000 CCI BR-2 primers for 2 pounds of H4831sc.
I was also thinking that a half dozen guys could meet and trade items among each other.
Admittedly, logistics would probably be difficult.

I could post a "Phoenix Swap Meet" and post what I had to trade and what I was looking for. Other Phoenix area guys could do the same.

A "swap meet" is scheduled at the completion of firing Friday, 7 Feb, at the Ben Avery 1000 yard line, SWN.

powder is NOT AN FFL CONTROLLED ITEM.

Danny, bring some of your match points, I'll trade you for some X's. ;)

Howdy _

The ammo/components hording started.... when it became pretty apparent Obama was going to " win".

IMHO -
Things will only improve, after Obama is out of office. And Feinstein....Schummer....Pelosi, et al.
There's enough of them to fill an airport shuttle van.

Even if Billary gets "in", hording might abate.... a bit.

Thats interesting mr stool as I was told by my dist, that you now need an ffl to order powder from them, hmm,Now on the other hand we can buy it from retailers but to be a retailer you definately need an ffl and the batfe approval.I am guessing there but thats the way it is here for now.

Jon, me thinks you might be confusing New York law with the rest of the country. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think in most states an FFL is NOT required for a FTF (face to face) exchange/sale of a rifle or shotgun, let alone powder.

Bill you are probably correct as our sucky laws are really hurting us big time. Now when we buy ammo or components we have to have a background check and they are working on a data base to track our purchases. On top of that they havent made up their mind and it may be a 10.00 chrg to run the check to buy one box of .22 rimfire.I stand corrected and appologize if I came across like I was mad. When my mom is gone I am getting the heck outta dodge.I need to find a place with lower taxes and home prices that are not crazy.LOL

No problem at all, Jon. I feel really bad for the New York people. I sure hope the rest of the country doesn't follow suit.

Tell your dist to learn how to read, Sounds like he is making up his own rules on components. The law only applies to buying loaded ammo in this state.
