Surplus US Military powder #846

Anyone out there know what this powder was used in? Maybe 30-06, 308, .223?
Any help would be appreciated. That title is on the label.

I have used it in .308 and .223. Burnt about 3 jugs i bet. Not sure of load data at the moment. Should be able to use BLC-2 data backed off and work up. A google search might bring up some data as well.

As noted, it is the military equivalent of BLC-(2) and you can use the same load data. Of course, start out at the lowest charge indicated and work your way up. One feature to note is that this powder requires a 80% or better case fill to burn consistently in my experience. It was developed for the 7.62 NATO round, but it also works well in .223 and .30-06.

I bought 16lbs of it about 3 years ago from American Reloading, as well as 16lbs of WC-844 (H335 equivalent). I have not seen it listed again. You just have to keep an eye out for it at all the usual surplus component sites.

I have been using it as a BLC-2 replacement. It has worked in .223, .30-30, .308, 30-06 etc. I have shot some of the tightest groups in my life in .308 using this particular pull down powder.

Where did you find the powder?
And yes, the guys on here are the best.
Sorry Bat for the late reply. I just don't know where I got it but it was 10 or more years ago. Shoots like you cannot believe. One 5 shot group, machine rest, at my house, got 20 acers, was .41, edge to edge, one hole, 100 yds., with my Savage 223, 27 gr. with a 55 gr. hornady. My buddy could not believe it.
