Surplus/ pull down powders for .300wsm

About to be reloading some .300wsm. just for hunting really. Was curious if anyone happened to use any pull down / surplus powder in this cartridge if so which ones ?
Thanks

I have not loaded for this cartridge. But a quick glance at online Nosler load data shows a preference for slow burner powder w/heavier bullets. With that in mind, contact Jeff Bartlett. He often has suitable surplus powder, new production and pull down. He demills ammo on a commercial basis, so very knowledgeable about all things regarding surplus powder.
Jeff's web page:

My last purchase from Jeff was new production IMR7383 (For 50 cal M48A2 Spotter round). Its currently earmarked for loading 308 Norma Mag for my father-in-law...when I get off my butt and do it.

I've also purchased surplus/pull down from Pats:
He shows WC860 Surplus in stock.
Ball powder from 50 BMG, similar to H870 or AA8700. I have loaded it for 7mm Mag (many years ago).

Milsurp powders aren’t for beginners. There are some powders out there that have been pressed into service, but go crazy real quick.

Blue is right, call Jeff and he can set you straight. I have used WC872 in RUMs but I have never reloaded for a 300WSM. Nothing special about surplus powders WC872 is almost identical to H870, and if I had not been told it was WC872 I would not have known the difference. I am a little skeptical of the duplex loads that are cropping up on Cast Bollits.

Having used several hundred pounds of surplus over the years, I used a lot of WC 820. 3-4 different lots and the all acted differently some was close to H110/296, some acted like AA#9, then some was like 2400.
I burned 40+ pounds of the WC820 that mirrored AA#9 and still have about 10lbs left. Grain for grain it shot the same numbers over the chrono as AA9. I was fortunate to have input from friends in the industry when I decided to play with the stuff.
Prices today are just not worth it IMHO, last I checked before stuff went up maybe $2-4 a pound difference.
