Surgeon firing pin removal

Is there a way to remove the firing pin from a Surgeon 591 bolt using common tools, and if not what tool specifically should be used? I'm wanting to remove it to not have any resistance while finding the lands. Thanks.

You should be able to catch the cocking piece in a sharp wood table corner or countertop and pull away compressing the spring. It should reveal a groove in the back of the bolt where you can insert a penny. Then release pressure and penny will serve as a stop. Then simply screw firing pin assembly out of bolt.

Thanks guys. The penny trick worked like a champ. I will be getting one of the tools for the future. Thanks again.

A small pocket screwdriver's shank hooked into the aft striker hook held between index & middle finger w/ thumb pressure, jump the striker/pin cocking finger over the cocking cam 4X w/ a 5th turn counterclockwise to remove pin assy from bolt body.
Firing Pin assy is removed.
Done thousands over the years w/ the above procedure.
Reverse order to reinstall.

Or the TactiKool method wound up in your shoe laces!!!
